Frequently asked questions

You’ve got questions?

Good. I’ve got answers.

  • I’m based in Michigan and offer virtual therapy to clients across the state. I also offer in-person sessions near Troy two days per week (limited spots available). You can be on your couch, in your car, or hiding from your kids in the laundry room — as long as it’s private, we’re good.

Coming soon: virtual therapy across Florida & Illinois

  • It’s simple. Once we decide to move forward, you’ll set up your secure client portal through TherapyNotes. Before each session, you’ll automatically get a reminder with a private link via text and email — no scrambling to find it. Just click, join, and we dive in. Some clients sit in their parked car between errands, others curl up with a blanket and coffee. We make it work around your real life.

  • Yes — I currently offer daytime in-person sessions in Troy, MI two days per week. These are limited and often reserved for clients who prefer or need face-to-face support. The rest of the week, I offer flexible virtual appointments.

  • Sessions are $180 for 60 minutes. I’m in-network with BCBS, Blue Care Network, Aetna, and United Healthcare. If you’re using one of those, I’ll verify your benefits ahead of time so there are no surprises.

I also offer private pay options if you’re not using insurance. And if you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill for possible reimbursement.

  • Your first session is about getting to know each other — no pressure to share your entire life story or have everything figured out. We’ll talk about what’s been coming up for you, what you’re hoping to get support around, and what’s felt hard to navigate alone. I’ll ask some questions to better understand your background, and we’ll go at a pace that feels safe and manageable for you. You are also welcome to ask me questions! It’s okay if things feel messy — therapy is a space where that’s allowed.

  • There’s no one-size-fits-all answer here. Some clients come for a short season to work through something specific; others stay longer to unpack deeper patterns, trauma, or identity shifts. We’ll talk about your goals and check in regularly about how things are feeling. I’m not here to keep you in therapy forever — I’m here to support you in a way that’s actually helpful and sustainable for your life.

  • A Good Faith Estimate (GFE) is a federally required document that gives you a clear picture of the potential costs of your care if you're not using insurance. It outlines the fees you might expect over the course of therapy, based on what we know at the time. You’ll receive one after we schedule your first appointment so you know what to expect financially — no surprises, just transparency.

  • I specialize in working with women, mothers, and older teens/young adults navigating stress, transitions, and identity shifts.

  • Totally normal. Sometimes things feel like a match early on, and later you realize you need something different. That doesn’t mean you’ve failed or done anything wrong — it just means you’re tuning into what works for you.

If that happens, we’ll talk about it honestly. No guilt, no weirdness. I’ll support you in finding someone who’s a better fit for where you are now, and I can offer trusted referrals. You’re not stuck — you’re allowed to change your mind.

Therapy only works when it feels safe and aligned. Additionally, if you’re looking for something outside my scope (like couples therapy, eating disorder treatment, or more specialized support), I’ll let you know and help guide you toward trusted referrals.

  • Totally okay. Most clients come in feeling scattered, unsure, or like there’s just too much. You don’t need to have it all sorted — we’ll start by slowing things down, getting grounded, and tuning into what matters most right now.

Curious if this could be the right fit? Let’s talk — free consult, no pressure.
